Outdoor After-school Program

Program will not be operational for the 2023 - 2024 school year due to lack of enrollment.

Want your student to be outside after school instead of in front of a screen?

At Natural Connections Academy, we are dedicated to providing children with the opportunity to build relationships with the natural world. Our Outdoor After-school Program (OASP) is designed to help children gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the outdoors through hands-on activities such as nature exploration, games, crafts, and activities. Through the OASP, children are able to learn about their environment in a safe and supportive setting, while also having fun, making friends, and developing a connection to the natural world.

OASP will pick up students who are in 3rd to 8th grade, at their school (currently restricted to Bryan, Winton, Fernan Elementary Schools and Lakes Middle School) with our shuttle and transport them to local parks and hiking locations. While being transported students are given a small healthy snack, and then we spend at least one hour on a hike (snowshoe) or at a local park.

Program hours are from end of school day to 5:30 p.m.

Students can be signed up for one of the following options:

  • $50 full week (3rd - 5th)**

  • $35 three day option M|W|F (3rd - 5th)

  • $25 T|TH (6th - 8th)

** $150 for the month (if paid in advance)

Maximum number of students in the program is 10 for a very low student teacher ratio.

Program is run by a certified teacher with a background in natural resource management.

Program requires 10 enrollees to operate.

"My son was in the program for over a month and every single one of those days he came back with new knowledge and fun stories of all the different activities he did that day. I would recommend this program and have recommended this program to other families. Tammi was always helpful and easy to communicate with. My son and I absolutely loved this program!"
