Students will learn about the forest and plants that reside in Heyburn State Park in the one week camp. For 2nd through 4th grade.

About the event

Students will explore Heyburn State Park, the oldest park in the Pacific Northwest. While hiking through and around the park, students will learn about the forest including tree and plant identification, habitat, ecosystems, and history of the park. 

2nd through 4th Grade.

Camps will start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. each day. 

Pick up and drop off point will be at 414 Coeur D'Alene Avenue, Suite E which is the base for Natural Connections Academy. Students will then be transported by shuttle to Heyburn State Park in Plummer, Idaho.

Campers should bring a backpack, snack, a bag lunch, and a water bottle. They should also bring sunscreen and bug repellent (if desired). Optional items in backpack: binoculars, compass, gloves (gardening gloves or something similar,  if they don't want their hands to get dirty).

    ***This is a Mentor Ticket. In addition to attending for the scheduled week of June 26th through June 30th, the reduced price requires the student to attend another week camp (at no cost) to serve as a mentor and helper during the week of July 10th through 14th at Forest Camp for Kindergarten and First Grade students.
